Anger

Anger can range in scale. Sometimes it can just make us a little snappy or irritable – at it’s worst, it can manifest into physical violence, both to others or to ourselves.

Anger is a primitive response. It’s our brain’s way of telling us that we may be in danger and that we need to respond. Unfortunately, anger brings with it irrational thoughts which make us focus and act directly against the source of the threat. Often, making us lose all rational perspective.

It can sometimes be useful – for example, when needing to protect ourselves from physical attack. However, when it gets out of control it can cause problems – for ourselves and others.

Some of the most common symptoms of anger are:

  • hitting things
  • shouting and threatening behaviour
  • throwing things
  • self-harming
  • passive-aggressive actions

Physical symptoms can include:

  • faster heartbeat
  • feeling hot
  • tightness of chest
  • muscle tension
  • clenching of fists

Mental symptoms can include:

  • feeling tense or nervous
  • inability to relax
  • easily irritable
  • resentment

Using hypnotherapy, we can help to manage your anger.

First, we’ll explore the root cause of your anger so that we can begin to understand it and work through it.

We will identify the triggers and work on changing your reactions to them. Consequently, this will help develop better responses to the situations that currently lead to anger.

Countless situations in life can lead to anger, but anger that’s harboured can be a destructive force. Eventually, there comes a point when you need to ask yourself if becoming a hindrance in your life.

Hypnotherapy can help you understand the nature of your anger issues and identify the triggers and the warning signs.

Together, we’ll help you stay calm and we’ll develop constructive, calm responses to all the situations that may have previously caused your anger issues.
